during the course of my preceptorship and in 1997 began working with a naturopathic physician. Shortly after receiving my MSN/Nurse Practitioner degree I attended a national conference on heavy metal toxicity and my personal and professional curiosity was piqued; myself and each member of my family tested high for mercury and lead poisoning. I then chose to go through an intense detoxification program. As I was learning about environmental medicine my brother became infected with Lyme’s disease. Once again I returned to school, the Southwest Naturopathic School of Medicine, and received an Environmental Master’s degree. Presently my practice is divided with two areas of professional focus—Women’s Health Care and Environmental Medicine. The foundation of my detoxification program is the infrared sauna complimented by intravenous nutrients and cold laser treatments. I have successfully detoxed hundreds of patients and improved the symptoms of many chronically ill patients by combining traditional Eastern and Western medical treatment modalities. Each of my patients’ treatment plans are customized by integrating mind, body, and spirit techniques which allows the healer within each of us to be stimulated. I am currently back in school working on a license in acupuncture, so I can incorporate it into my practice. My joy and passion is sharing the journey of healing and health with my patients.
In 1982, I obtained my Registered Nurse degree from Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and began my professional career as a hospital nurse—starting in Michigan and then moving to Arizona. Because I desired to expand my professional capabilities and horizons I enrolled at the University of Phoenix in Phoenix and obtained my BSN and MSN/Nurse Practitioner degrees in 1997. I worked with six certified Nurse Midwives, a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner and a naturopathic physician
